This year Beatons has been showing its kindness towards Age UK Suffolk.
Age UK Suffolk is an independent charity from the larger National Charity Age UK and therefore cannot rely upon the large scale donations available to a National Charity. All of their money goes to serve people in the Suffolk area. It is Age UK Suffolk’s 70th Anniversary and we have joined them in this monumental achievement in being one of their Platinum Supporters. But we wanted to do more than simply being a passive supporter in the background, we wanted to make a real difference to the elderly in the region.

After Age UK Suffolk visited our offices and talked about how they assist the elderly in the region our staff were energised about helping the charity. We took two donation pods for the Age UK Suffolk stores. Within days the pods were full with Age UK Suffolk collecting the clothes, handbags and other donated items from clients, staff and their friends and families.

Our staff will also be starting reverse advent calendars when rather than getting something for themselves (such as a chocolate) each day they will donate an item for a Christmas Hamper which will be provided to elderly people of Suffolk currently being supported by Age UK Suffolk.
