Accountants get on their bikes for charity fundraiser

WE LVE NUMBERS!

A trio of accountants swapped balance sheets for bicycle seats this week to pedal towards a £2,000 donation for charity.

James Barker, Trainee Accountant, Andrew Diver, Head of Tax, and Patrick Cowell, Assistant Accountant at Beatons Accountancy firm in Ipswich formed The Beatons Bikers to take part in the RideFest static bike challenge at The Buttermarket Centre, all in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice.

St Elizabeth Hospice provides vital care for people living with progressive illnesses, offering specialist palliative care and support across the community. They rely on fundraising and volunteers to continue their incredible work.

The Beatons team joined other businesses from across Suffolk to go the distance, cycling in exchange for donations – with the firm smashing their £500 target.

Each business entered a team of three and each participant took on a 10-minute slot to ride as many km as they could in the half an hour.

The winners were PureGym with 21.9km achieved, followed by Brewin Dolphin with 21.7km and Eastern Concrete at 19.4km.

Beatons secured an impressive 16.9Km.

Andrew said: “While we didn’t win, I’d like to think it is putting the effort in where it really counts, and we were winners in raising money for the Hospice.

“We raised almost half of the total sponsorship for Ridefest and we are extremely grateful for the kindness and generosity of our clients and associates for supporting us.”

The Beatons fundraising total has now reached £2,156 but you can still donate here: https://stelizabethhospice.enthuse.com/pf/beatons-bikers
