Residential Property Forum

WE LVE NUMBERS!

Over the last month Beatons has been pleased to host a series of Residential Property Forums providing insight into the recent tax squeeze on the buy-to-let sector from our Head of Tax Andrew Diver. He discussed the changes to stamp duty, tax relief rules on property costs and the likely increases in tax for buy-to-let landlords as a result of the restrictions to mortgage interest relief.

Andrew also outlined methods of mitigating the effects of these changes including detailed guidance on purchasing or transferring properties into a Limited Company. The tax changes are now increasing taxable income but will be first be felt by landlords in their 31 January 2019 tax payments. If you are interested in any of these aspects please contact Andrew Diver on andrew@beatons.co.uk for more information and guidance.

The forum also included assistance on financing rental property and developments from Adrian Game from Resolute Mortgages and an insight into the local property market and prospects for the future from Joseph Hall at Fenn Wright Estate agents.

The forums were hugely popular with a blend of potential investors, experienced developers and landlords with a vast range of property interests in attendance all able to contribute to the Round Table discussions which added to the richness of the content of the forum.

Beatons will be running further seminars in future in connection with property investments (commercial and residential), Cloud accounting, Apps for improving financial administration and inheritance tax. If you are interested in attending you should sign up to the newswire on https://www.beatons.co.uk/registration/register or e-mail mandy@beatons.co.uk to be added to our invite list.
