Beatons Group is delighted to announce our new sponsorship of Ipswich-East Suffolk (IES) Hockey Club. The company will be proud to see its logo emblazoned on the club’s new kit next season, which kicks off in September. Here, John Oakley, Beatons Group’s Taxation Director, who is a hockey umpire himself, explains why the firm are backing the club.
Sports clubs can be the cornerstone of a community, bringing together people of all backgrounds on the pitch and even more cheering from the side-lines.
A club can feel like a family – you go through highs and lows but are always there to support each another.
Not only is getting out there and playing regular sport great for your health and wellbeing, but it is also a great place to make new friends and to be part of a team.
Hockey has been a sport I have loved throughout my life – I umpire matches myself and help out with the administration of the Suffolk Indoor League.
It’s fantastic sport, requiring a great deal of skill and composure under pressure, and more importantly, the need to pull together and work as a team.
So, it was great news to hear Beatons were supporting one of our top local teams and would have our logo proudly gracing the arm of their match strip.
Although Beatons Group has a wide variety of clients from all right across the country, we have a strong connection to the local area.
Ipswich is our home, and we are proud of where we live and work.
That’s why we are sponsoring the club, to give something back to the community we love, and to support organisations that make Ipswich the place it is.
We hope the sponsorship will help the club grow from strength to strength, allowing even more people in the area to get involved and pick up a stick.
